IFVGA Lifetime Achievement Award Winners
The 2022 IFVGA Lifetime Achievement Award Winner Recipient is Darrell and Malinda Geisler! In 2005, Darrell and Malinda opened their farm to visitors. For 17 years they served their community through family fun, education and involvement.
The Geisler’s have been key members of our association over the years. Darrell served on the IFVGA board member from 2010 to 2015. He served as IFVGA president from 2012 to 2015. Darrell and Malinda also coordinated IFVGA’s booth at the Iowa State Fair, sponsored the Big Pumpkin Contest, and hosted many IFVGA and partner meetings on their farm.

The 2021 IFVGA Lifetime Achievement Award Winner Recipient was Ron and Becky Deardorff. Deardorff Sweetcorn, located near Adel, has been in business for over 35 years. Ron’s 2 sons are now taking over the business.
“Sweetcorn is a fun project and process. People look forward to the fresh, homegrown, Iowa sweetcorn in the summer. Over the years people have come to recognize our name and brand and know we have quality sweetcorn”, Ron Deardorff.

The Iowa Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association presented two IFVGA Lifetime Achievement Awards at the Iowa Specialty Producers Awards Banquet. These individuals have dedicated many years of service and commitment to our organization and industry. Congratulations to Dean & Judy Henry (Berry Patch Farms) and Helen & the late Dave Huitink (Pumpkinland).
